Abstract

This research paper titled “Mapping New Paths: Knowing Contemporary Challenges in Legal Education and Practice in India” delves into the current landscape of the legal field and legal education in India. The study focuses on identifying and analyzing key issues, proposing recommendations, and highlighting the importance of addressing these challenges. The paper begins by discussing the need for curriculum reform in legal education. It emphasizes the importance of practical skills development, suggesting the integration of courses on legal research, writing, drafting, negotiation, and oral advocacy. Additionally, the paper advocates for the inclusion of emerging fields of law such as intellectual property rights, cyber law, and international trade law, to better equip law students for the evolving demands of the profession.
